DescriptionThis course will introduce basic concepts related to understanding the toxicity of chemicals. We will provide an overview of basic principles of toxicology and human health risk assessment of hazardous chemicals. We will look at health guidance values and emergency exposure levels and how different types of studies inform us about toxicity. Finally, we will review how these concepts relate to the CalARP Program.

ObjectiveWe will provide updates to the ongoing efforts to assist with closure of single-walled USTs, updates to RUST, and how RUST applies to UST closure.
DescriptionRedhorse Corporation, partnering with the State Water Board, has been engaged in outreach to single-walled UST owners and operators, and would like to share metrics on correspondence sent and received, and summarize the gathered data. We will also share updates to the RUST program which assists eligible small businesses with funding for their UST projects via grants and loans, and relate RUST back to single-walled and abandoned UST removal.

DescriptionThis course is a high-level overview of responder considerations to prevent and mitigate hazardous material contamination of air, water, food, housing and workplaces and their impacts to vulnerable populations. A panel presentation and discussion will use case studies to demonstrate the importance of including cultural awareness/sensitivity, and maintaining strong community relationships in the full lifecycle of emergency management.
