ObjectiveSession covers use of a RIID for search, detection, and identification of nuclide sources. RIID types and data reachback methods will be presented.
DescriptionORTEC will discuss practical and technical differences of medium- and high-resolution RIIDs; safety information shown when using a RIID; how a RIID can be used to effectively search for, detect, and identify radionuclide sources; how a user can evaluate and download ID results; and typical methods to send stored RIID data to radiological reachback for advanced assessment and verification. A hands on practical session for interested students.
