ObjectiveThe objective of this presentation is to provide the CUPAs with assistance in preparing their updated Area Plans.
DescriptionCalEPA is now overseeing the completion of Area Plans, and a lot of CUPAS are in the process of updating their Area Plans to comply with the current requirements. This presentation will cover the history of the Area Plan, various formats for Area Plans, and updates to the current requirements. A short section on Hazardous Materials Commodity Flow Studies will also be discussed. Both Area Plans and Commodity Flow Studies can be partly funded by Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grants, which are still available through CalOES.
