MIA GOINGS, Environmental Scientist - DTSC

Mia Goings, Senior Environmental Scientist. CalEPA DTSC, Enforcement and Emergency Response Division, Berkeley office. I am currently a CUPA evaluator and inspector for DTSC's Hazardous Waste Management Program. In this capacity, I prepare evaluation reports and present evaluation findings, including deficiency tracking, analysis, and recommendations. I conduct oversight inspections with CUPA staff to determine the effectiveness of the CUPA in implementing the hazardous waste generator and tiered permitting programs. I am a liaison to CUPAs, providing program development, technical assistance and support in the areas of hazardous waste management and tiered permitting. I conduct inspections of various hazardous waste management facilities to determine compliance with hazardous waste control laws and regulations.
