DARRYL BOOTH, General Manager - Accela

Darryl Booth is the General Manager of Accela's Environmental Health Division, which serves over 50 CUPAs. With over twenty years' experience in Public Health and Informatics, Darryls passions include promoting field inspection solutions, GIS, open data, engineering data exchanges, collaborative data standards, and all other technical matters which can propel government services. Darryl and his colleagues worked with California CUPAs since SB 1082 and helped work out the complexities of a CUPA Data Dictionary, Electronic Data Transfer (EDT), and Violation and Checklist Libraries for 48 CUPAs. Now that the initial CERS and EDT standards are built and normalized, Darryl is now looking forward to re-assessing those early requirements considering CERS capabilities and CUPAs practices. Darryl has an MBA from the Craig School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from California State University, Fresno. He sits on several federal, state, and regional committees and is fanatical about environmental health.

DARWIN CHENG, Assistant Director - Orange County EH

Darwin Cheng is the Assistant Director for Orange County Environmental Health. He has 24 years of environmental compliance experience. He is also responsible for overall administration of Food and Pool Safety, Unified Programs, Land and Water Quality Programs. He is a CSTI Outreach Instructor for FRA, FRO and Hazardous Materials Technician. He has a B.S. Microbiology Degree from Cal. State Long Beach and a Juris Doctor from Western States University College of Law.

My name is Dave Emmington and I have been in the petroleum equipment industry for over 30 years, and I've been with The Veeder-Root Company for 20 years. As Environmental Product Manager, I interact with all regulatory agencies, end-users, distributors and contractors across the US and Canada for familiarization of Veeder-Root's various environmental products. I'm directly responsible to translate regulatory and end-users preferences into product specification, design, and functionality. I'm continually involved with product development, education, and the training on all of Veeder-Roots products.

DAVID IREY, Assistant Chief DDA - Yolo County DA's Office

In 1985, David Irey received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Davis campus. After entering law school at the University of Davis, King Hall School of Law in 1985, he decided to pursue a joint degree program. He earned his Master of Science Degree in Water Science in 1989 and graduated from King Hall the same year. David spent 26 years with the San Joaquin County District Attorney Office's Environmental Prosecutions Unit. Beginning in 1997, he was the lead attorney in the Environmental Prosecutions, Worker Death and Code Enforcement Units. Between 2002-2014 (officially since 2004), David was the Supervising Deputy District Attorney for the San Joaquin County District Attorney office's Environmental Prosecutions, Worker Death, Consumer Fraud, and Code Enforcement Units. Since 2014 David has served in the capacity of Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Yolo County District Attorneys office, heading up the Consumer Fraud and Environmental Protection Division. David has been an active member of the California District Attorneys Association Environmental Protection Committee since the early 1990's and has served on multiple sub-committees, some for over a two decades.

DENNIS KARIDIS, Supervising Environmental Specialist - Sacramento County EMD

I was a CUPA evaluator with the California Environmental Protection Agency from 2001-2005 and have been an Environmental Specialist/Supervising Environmental Specialist with Sacramento County Environmental Management Department (EMD) from 2005-present. My current duties include supervising EMD's incident response team, enforcement program, California Accidental Release Prevention (CalARP) program, and hazardous materials/waste programs. I am the Vice-Chair on the CUPA Forum Board (CFB) and a representative for the Bay Area region. As a CFB member I am a co-chair on the CalARP and Enforcement Steering Committee's and participate in a number of other working/advisory groups.
