She currently holds the position of Assistant Chief in the Inspection Section of the Health Hazardous Materials Division within the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Thaddeus Hunt, MS, is an Environmental Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Center for Environmental Health (CEH) and coordinates Environmental Health Training for Emergency Response (EHTER). He brings 12 years of experience as an emergency management and training professional working in state, private, and non-profit sectors. Previously, she was Vice-President and business owner of an environmental consulting firm in Northern California for 14 years. TRENT SMITH, Environmental Scientist - DTSC

Trenton (Trent) Smith, Ph.D., Environmental Scientist, DTSC. Trent works in DTSC's Hazardous Waste Management Program, specifically the Waste Evaluation and Recycling Unit (WERU). In that role, he evaluates (1) the status of materials as potential wastes and hazardous wastes according to California and federal law, as well as (2) claims of an exclusion or exemption from hazardous waste regulation, especially on the basis of recycling activities. WERU receives inquiries internally from DTSC colleagues as well as referrals of questions from the regulated community, CUPAs, and from other California EPA Boards, Departments, and Offices.
