ObjectiveParticipants will learn when a Waste Analysis Plan is required for hazardous waste generators and how to develop its key components.
DescriptionHazardous waste analysis plans (WAPs) are required by various regulatory programs and they help with obtaining defensible data, yet they are not implemented often enough. This course will review the basics of a good WAP, discuss the regulatory initiatives that require or benefit from WAPs, and explore the specific requirements for each program.

DescriptionEvery UST inspector and manager should know the connection between the UST inspection report, Report 6 and the Technical Compliance Rate (TCR). The State Water Board evaluation team will provide an in-depth look at how they assess compliance with the Federal UST program, California leak detection requirements, and the implications these have for the CUPA Performance Evaluation.

DescriptionThe State Water Board's new GeoTracker Tank Pull Portal was developed to streamline the UST removal reporting requirements outlined in Chapter 16 of the CCRs. This course includes an overview of GeoTracker's new Tank Pull Portal, including a comprehensive look at both the CUPA and Cleanup Oversight Agency tools. The course will outline the improvements to the reporting requirements and will provide a live demonstration of the Portal.

ObjectiveThis session will present participants with LAFD CERS data and how it is available in multiple GIS platforms used for emergency response.
DescriptionWe will use HAZMAT scenarios that have taken place in the City of Los Angeles and how the LAFD used CERS chemical inventory information in their various GIS systems to address the emergency. Specifically, we will cover LAFD GIS systems such as PEAC software and LAFD Ready GIS as well as future projects for incorporating CERS data into 911 dispatch. We will show CUPA's how to correct location info in CERS to aid critical for GIS success.
