DescriptionThis course is a comprehensive overview of the Industrial General Permit (IGP), including No Exposure Certification (NEC) and Notice of Intent (NOI) requirements for industrial facilities. The course will further describe BMPs, monitoring, and how releases of hazardous materials can be a potential source of contaminants and lead to discharges to surface waters. And finally, real world examples will provide guidance to avoid common violations.

DescriptionDTSC administers the Emergency Permit program as outlined in CCR 22 66270.61. These permits are meant to address situations that are an "imminent and substantial endangerment to human health or the environment." This course will give an overview of the DTSC process and how it might affect local jurisdictions. This course will also provide real examples of past emergency permits issued for various sites throughout California.

DescriptionThis session is an overview of the first Hazardous Waste Management Plan currently being considered by the Board of Environmental Safety for approval. The Plan has four focus areas: Environmental Justice, Waste and Disposal Reduction, Waste Criteria, and Capacity Planning. CUPAs are on the frontline of hazardous waste management and participated in development of the draft so their feedback and input is especially valuable.
