After attending this session, students will gain a better understanding of haz waste treatment options, limitations, and requirements for generators under the California Tiered Permitting Program.
   Description
Tiered Permitting (TP) remains an area of confusion for generators and often for CUPAs. As a key to reducing off-site hazardous waste disposal, it is important that generators fully understand the requirements and limitations of TP. The session will review treatment options available to generators emphasizing fixed treatment units. The initial and ongoing compliance requirements for generators under different tiers will be reviewed.

Overview of Tiered Permitting (Rev. 2/27/19)
After 25 years, the Tiered Permitting Program (TPP) remains an area of confusion for generators and often for CUPAs. As a key tool to reducing off-site hazardous waste disposal, it is important that generators fully understand the requirements and limitations of TPP. The session will review treatment options available to generators emphasizing fixed treatment units. The initial and ongoing compliance requirements for generators operating under different tiers (e.g. Permit-By-Rule) will also be reviewed.
