   Objective
Attendees will be presented with the environmental prevalence and behavior of Parachlorobenzotrifluoride (PCBTF), a widely used but currently unregulated solvent. Attendees will have a better understanding of potential human health risks associated with exposure to chemicals identified in synthetic turf materials.
   Description
Numerous investigations of VOC-impacted sites show that PCBTF is a frequently observed constituent in soil gas throughout Southern California. Touted as a green solvent, PCBTF has nonetheless been found to have negative health effects. Toxic chemicals identified in synthetic turf materials have prompted concerns over potential health effects associated with the use of synthetic turf fields.
