   Objective
After attending this class, attendees will observe a regulator and brownfields investor discussing transforming contaminated properties into beneficial use. Additionally, attendees will explore the successes and failures of the assessment tool since 2008 when it was first implemented as a pilot, and plans for improving it.
   Description
Discussion topics for this class will include: contaminated site selection; third-party funding; investor requirements; pre-screening contaminated site investments with lead agencies; case studies of brownfields projects overview of 3-4 sites; and Garden Grove brownfield case study. Additionally, in 2009 the SF Bay Region developed a tool for assessing closure of chlorinated solvent sites. The tool documents the SF Bay Water Boards criteria for evaluating closure.
